Blood Syndrome is divided into Blood Heat and Qi deficiency. Within these two kinds Blood Heat is mostly Warm Heat Disease. Within Qi deficiency there is Internal Injury Miscellaneous Disease. In Internal Injury Miscellaneous Disease of Blood Syndrome you are most likely to see the manifestation of Sp deficiency, Qi weakness and the loss of containment of blood. The appropriate method of treatment is to benefit Qi, warm and constrain. Can use ren shen and huang qi to boost qi and contain blood. Can also use shi zhi, hai piao xiao and jiao shan zha in order to warm, constrain and stop bleeding. It is suitable to use big quantities, especially with chi shi zhi. It is possible to use chi shi zhi in doses of 50-100g. One can even use more than 50-100g. This is because this herb has the function of augmenting qi, warming, constraining and stopping bleeding. Just like the book Bên Câo Qiú Zhën says: shi zhi is warm making it able to boost qi and engender flesh, the sour nature of shi zhi can stop bleeding and consolidate the lower.” If use small doses it is not effective. Two example cases are below:
Case 1: Huang X, male, 6 years old. First office call on December 5 1986. On November 23rd the patient began to bleed from the gums and nose (epistaxis). Following that the whole body erupted with subcutaneous red and maroon lesions. When pressed upon the lesions did not fade in color. The blood was examined. The blood platelet level was 36x10 9/L, hematocrit was 40g/L, red blood cell level was 1.6x10 12/L, and white blood cell level was 2.7x10 9/L. Diagnosis was Reduced Blood Platelet (thrombocytopenia) Purpura, went through treatment with no effect. When he came to see me his complexion was sallow (greenish-yellow) and lacking luster. His whole body had scattered, bleeding lesions that turned into static blood macules (discolored flat lesions) with a greater concentration on the four limbs. He ate little and his spirit was weary. His heart was vexed, not peaceful. He was sweating; his stools were scanty and black. Sometimes he spit blood (hemoptysis). His tongue body was pale with a thin white fir, pulse is thin and not strong.
Pattern: Spleen deficiency, weak qi and loss of containment of blood
Treatment Method: Boost qi, warm and constrain.

After taking six packs the blood stopped issuing, sweating less, food intake increased, bowel movement turned yellow. Examined blood, blood platelets 95x10 9/L, hematocrit 45g/l, white blood cells 6.1x10 9/l.
Primary formula with chuan jun tan removed and dang gui added. Patient took 20 doses after which the symptoms where eliminated, the blood platelet count ascended extremely to 110x10 9/L; hematocrit is 65 g/L.
Then the primary formula was modified to increase the supplement the Kidney and boost Essence medicinal substances.
