| The Financial Aid Application Process |
Step 1 - Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):Each applicant must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year for which aid is requested. The FAFSA can be completed online at www.fafsa.edu. Before completing the FAFSA, each student will have to request a personal identification number (PIN), which is available at www.pin.ed.gov. Step 2 - Mandatory Entrance Counseling:Each student must complete one-time Entrance Counseling prior to receiving any student loans. This counseling is completed at the time that a student is applying for loans for the first year. It can be completed online at mappingyourfuture.org. Please follow the instructions below:
Step 3 - Decide on the loan amount:Each student should plan to talk with the Financial Aid Administrator about how much money he/she would like to request. Step 4 - Fill out loan application:Students may choose any lender. A list of lenders can be found at www.finaid.org/loans/choosing.phtml.
