Student Services and Facilities
Academic Counseling: The Academic Dean and faculty are available for academic counseling of students. Tutoring services are also available for students needing additional academic support.
Library: The school's library is open forty hours per week and provides texts on Chinese medicine in English and Chinese, and a small biomedical collection. Computer databases and Internet services are also available.
Books and Supplies: Students may order books and supplies directly from distributors through arrangements organized by the school.
Placement Assistance: The Academic Dean is available to discuss career issues with students. The Institute maintains a bulletin board where all requests for acupuncturists and acupuncture educators are posted. The Institute does not have a formal placement assistance program.
Student Representation: Students annually elect a representative to sit on SIOM's Advisory Board and act as a formal student representative to the administration. The representative also assists in facilitating student social activities and other events.
Student Complaints: Concerns raised by students about the program can be directed to the Academic Dean at (206) 517-4541.
Facilities: The Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine is located in the Roosevelt neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The Institute's building houses the teaching clinic, herbal dispensary, administrative offices, library, lounge areas and classroom space. The clinic and school office hours are weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
