What other kinds of treatments would you try for yellow vaginal discharge if you have already tried to clear heat, dispel damp, and resolve toxins and they didn’t work?

Response:

With yellow vaginal discharge it is common to see cervicitis or vaginitis.  In the past yellow vaginal discharge was commonly diagnosed as damp-heat toxin evil that is down pouring in the Dai vessel.  The Dai vessel is failing to hold which leads to damage to the Chong and Ren vessels resulting in the yellow vaginal discharge.  According to Fu Qing Zhu: “When a woman has yellow vaginal discharge where the color is like a thickened yellow tea and the smell is foul.  This is called yellow vaginal discharge.  This is damp-heat affecting the Ren vessel.”  Physicians like to use <<Shi Bu Zhui Bu Xie Fang>> Stop Vaginal Discharge Formula and add clear heat resolve toxin herbs.  If you don’t see results from this you must consider a different treatment method.

This disease has a thick, yellow vaginal discharge that has a foul odor.  It may have some blood and fluids mixed in and have vaginal itching.  She may experience yellow urine, a bitter taste, dry throat, and constipation.  This persons tongue would be red with a thin, yellow coat and her pulse is wiry and rapid.  Aside from the above symptoms her menstruation may be irregular with heavy bleeding that is purple and thick with clots.  Before or during menses there is lower abdominal pain.  When this type of patient comes in, her main complaint is commonly the yellow vaginal discharge.  Damp-heat and blood stasis often go along with the menstrual diseases but it is common for practitioners to not have these patients take herbs during menses.  This can make it difficult to expel the pathogen (i.e. damp-heat).  Thus the yellow vaginal discharge doesn’t get better. The herbs that are normally used are san qi, xue jie, hua rui shi, bai jiang cao, hong teng, qian cao, mu dan pi, chi shao, bai shao, dan shen, and yan hu suo modified.  After taking these herbs the menstrual amount, color, cycle (length of time), and flow (length of bleeding) return to normal and the painful menses also can disappear.

When treating yellow vaginal discharge you also must treat the menstrual cycle.  This theory comes from the Shang Han Lun.  It says that there is heat entering the blood chamber (uterus), the shao yang channel.  The shao yang channel is mostly qi and less blood therefore it is mostly a qi aspect disease.  During a woman’s menstrual period it is easier for the evil to enter the blood aspect, thus the heat enters the blood chamber (uterus).  Yellow vaginal discharge mainly belongs to the qi aspect damp-heat.  The menstrual period can be a good way to clear blood aspect stasis heat pathogen.  The authors treatment for yellow vaginal discharge would normally be Stop Vaginal Discharge Formula plus jin yin hua, bai hua she she cao, pu gong ying, mu tou hui, chun gen pi, and gan cao.  Modifications: After sexual intercourse there is an increase in discharge add shan zhu yu, duan long gu, and duan mu li; vaginal itching add di fu zi and bai xian pi; tongue peeled add sheng di huang and zhi huang jing; poor appetite and sloppy stool add chao bai zhu and chao shan yao; early menstruation add di gu pi and bai wei; delayed menstruation add tao ren and dang gui; low back aches with menses add du zhong and sang ji sheng.
